NATO Prepares Four Battalions for Russian Border
5/1/16 - By Daniel McAdams

Picture
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that NATO is preparing to deploy four battalions -- approximately 4,000 troops -- to Russia's western border. US Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work was in Brussels today to announce the Western military escalation on Russia's border, which he claimed was in response to Russian military exercises near the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

According to Deputy Secretary of Defense Work, two of the battalions would come from the United States, with one each coming from the UK and Germany. This announcement might come as news to German lawmakers, as such a significant German military presence on Russia's borders has not been approved by Berlin. Although German Chancellor Angela Merkel has given Washington reason to believe that Germany would join the escalation, the move is considered highly controversial in a Germany growing weary of following US foreign policy dictates. In fact, according to recent polling, only one in three Germans supports the idea of the German military defending the Baltics even if there were a Russian attack. A clear majority of Germans oppose NATO military bases on Russia's border.

US-Created System In Iraq Is Collapsing: Protesters Storm Parliament, State of Emergency Declared
4/30/16 - By Tyler Durden

Today, the regime is in chaos and the system set up in Iraq by the US is collapsing when protesters loyal to popular Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr breached the heavily fortified Green Zone, home to government buildings and foreign embassies, and stormed the Iraqi parliament, forcing MPs to flee and resulting in a state of emergency being declared for all of Baghdad.

Global Warming Activists Want to Make Food More Expensive
4/28/16 - By Ryan McMaken

Picture
In a more civilized age — that is, during the 1840s — reducing the price of food for ordinary people was seen as a good thing. Nowadays, though, increasing the price of food in the name of "climate sustainability" is de rigueur. The UK Independent reports:
Denmark is considering proposals to introduce a tax on red meat, after a government think tank came to the conclusion that “climate change is an ethical problem”.

The Danish Council of Ethics recommended an initial tax on beef, with a view to extending the regulation to all red meats in [the] future. It said that in the long term, the tax should apply to all foods at varying levels depending on climate impact. [Emphasis added.]

The council voted in favour of the measures by an overwhelming majority, and the proposal will now be put forward for consideration by the government.
One wonders exactly what they mean by "an ethical problem," but it's fairly clear from the context that the phrase is merely code for "problem we elites have decided takes precedence over all other problems."

Greedy Bernie....always thinking about the bottom line
4/27/16 - By Chris Rossini

Picture
If Sanders said it once, he said it a thousand times. "Corporate Greed" is to blame for the plight of the average American. Big shot CEO's treat their laborers like dirt. They're always focused on the bottom line. They fail to "put people over profits".

Now the news breaks
that Bernie himself will be laying off hundreds of campaign workers across the country. Can you believe it? How ruthless!

iPhone Ruse: FedGov Now Demands Backdoor To All Devices

It started as a request to help catch the San Bernardino mass-shooters, but the FBI request for iPhone decryption has experienced massive mission creep. Not only is the federal government demanding access to hundreds of other encrypted devices, but a new bill in the Senate would essentially give the federal government a backdoor to virtually every encrypted device on earth. What are the implications for a free society? Today's special guest, Ron Paul Institute Senior Fellow Adam Dick.

What Do The Swiss Know That We Don't?

Their president(s) are mere figureheads, they resoundingly rejected the minimum wage yet workers are among the highest-paid in the world, they still value protection of personal banking information despite the US onslaught, and they hold strong to the principle of armed neutrality and non-intervention in world affairs. Why do the Swiss, despite their problems, seem to "get it" where we in the US do not? Today's guest, Global Gold's Claudio Grass, helps us understand.

Escalation Without Representation: Syria, Iraq, and Black Sea

President Obama's announcement today that he would quintuple US troops in Syria has passed without any interest from Congress -- just like his recent announcement of more trips to Iraq.
