Politicians are spending money (that they don’t have) like never before. Bailouts, “Stimulus,” and Welfare for everyone are the only game in town. The great enabler, the Federal Reserve, counterfeits dollars by the trillions! The failure of "planning" cannot be more obvious! Representative Thomas Massie sounds off in opposition to the madness on today's Liberty Report!
The whole narrative is falling apart. New studies every day are proving beyond a doubt that the measures taken worldwide - with a few exceptions - to "fight" what they claimed was a "new" coronavirus have not only failed to slow or stop the disease, they have been counterproductive. It turns out that people develop lasting T-cell immunities, that patients have been successfully treated with T-cells from asymptomatic test-positive cases, and that the virus rarely spreads outside the family setting. What are the authoritarians going to do when it is no longer possible to keep this information hidden? How will they keep people shut down. Plus today: Utah shows a way out of corona-tyranny, big party in Wuhan, they are still cooking the books, and...enemy of the week!
As the "Sun Belt" wave of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations burns itself out - as is always the case with a virus - those authoritarian politicians still clinging to the ability to push their citizens around refuse to give up. As in the Lord of the Rings, they cannot bear letting go of the ring of power. But what will it take for them to finally relinquish their stranglehold on our lives? Many hospitals are now suffering from a lack of patients and deaths among those under 50 years of age remain nearly non-existent. When is this over? What's the end game?

Liberty doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with no restraints; that you can take from others or harm others. That's not Liberty. That's tyranny! So Liberty is not unrestrained action, as some opponents of freedom will try to claim. Liberty is the exact opposite of tyranny. Yes, you can do whatever you want with your life and your property. However, other people and their property are the restraint. They are your limit. That's how far your liberty extends. Likewise, the Liberty of others extends all the way to you and your property. They're free do whatever they want with their life and property, as long as it does not harm you or your property. Now, because man is free to choose, it means some will choose to harm, steal, defraud or break a contract. When that occurs, the proper role of government is to come in and adjudicate the situation. In other words, the proper role of government is to protect individual liberty. Alas, this role of government has been turned completely upside down. Today, government is used as the primary tool for tyranny! Ambitious people, who have a lust to rule, aspire to gain power specifically because they can use government to harm others and to take property from others. Naturally, if government is a tool for aggressive violence against others, you're going to see the worst of the worst in humanity try to get a hold of that kind of power. Nothing will stand in their way. Not morals. Not ethics. Not a conscience. Not even the truth. This is a HUGE problem. If government is a tool for aggression, who do think will get in control of it? The common man? The poor? The average Joe? Not a chance! Getting in control of government in order to use it as a billy club against other people is a rich man's game. Money talks. Meanwhile, as government trounces over civilization like a chicken with its head cut off, the peaceful interactions of society start to come apart at the seams. Everything becomes political. Everything becomes one-size-fits-all, which is the antithesis of human nature. Every individual is exquisitely unique and one-of-a-kind. Trying to forcefully impose one-size-fits-all leads to violence. Humans are not robots. Humans are naturally free and constantly making subjective choices. They are not, and cannot be programmed to obey. When someone tries to force a human to obey, the human will ultimately rebel, since his very essence has been challenged. The role of government is critical. It is unsustainable for the role of government to remain as a tool of tyranny. For those who champion Liberty, the change that is necessary is obvious, and it must be a change in the realm of ideas. There must be a strong desire for government to assume its proper role as a protector of liberty; not a destroyer of liberty. Live and Let Live is the idea in a nutshell. You keep your hands off me and my stuff, and I keep my hands off you and your stuff. We voluntarily deal, trade, and make contracts with one another. We voluntarily exchange ideas, products and services with one another. No government interference to forcefully tilt the tables in one direction or another. If a person uses their liberty irresponsibly and decides to use aggressive force, or violence, or fraud, then government steps in to protect the liberty of the other party. What an optimistic goal to reach for, even if it isn't achieved in our lifetimes; or ever for that matter. Just reaching for such an ideal will make better human beings out of all of us.
Obama's "Assad must go" Syria policy lives on, even three plus years into the Trump Administration. Yesterday, US troops illegally occupying Syrian territory shot at a Syrian army checkpoint and a US helicopter followed up by destroying the outpost. At least one Syrian soldier was killed in the incident. Earlier this month a politically-connected US firm signed a contract with the US government to "modernize" US-controlled oilfields in Syria - to "starve Assad." Also today: insanity in Australia and New Zealand and mouth fungus outbreak in the US.

These days it seems there is not much good news out there. People are still panicked over the coronavirus, governments are still trampling civil liberties in the name of fighting the virus, the economy –already teetering on the edge of collapse – has been kicked to the ground by what history may record as one of the worst man-made disasters of all time: shutting down the country to fight a cold virus. That’s why we’ll take good news wherever we can get it, and President Trump’s hiring of Dr. Scott Atlas to his coronavirus task force may just be that good news we need. As the media has reported, President Trump has sidelined headline-hogging Anthony Fauci in favor of Atlas, the former Stanford University Medical Center chief of neuroradiology. Recall, Fauci was the “expert” who told us a few months ago that we would never be able to shake hands again. Fauci’s advice, forecasts, and assessments proved to be wildly wrong, contradictory, and just plain bizarre: Don’t wear a mask! You must wear a mask. Masks are important as symbols. Put on goggles. Stay home! Churches must be severely restricted but Black Lives Matter marches and encounters with strangers met over the Internet are perfectly fine. When Anthony Fauci demanded a lockdown of the economy for an indefinite period he actually seemed oblivious to the havoc it would wreak on the economy and on people’s lives. People like Fauci and others who demanded lockdowns and stay-at-home orders were still collecting their paychecks, so what did they care about anyone else? Dr. Scott Atlas is not only a former top physician and hospital administrator: as a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution he also understands the policy implications of locking a country down. On April 22, Dr. Atlas wrote an op-ed in The Hill titled, “The data is in — stop the panic and end the total isolation.” In the article he made five main points that are as true today as when he wrote them: an overwhelming majority of people are at no risk of dying from Covid; protecting older people prevents hospital overcrowding; locking down a population actually prevents the herd immunity necessary to defeat the virus; people are dying because they are not being treated for non-Covid illnesses; we know what part of the population is at risk and we can protect them. Imagine how many thousands of lives could have been saved had the Administration listened to Dr. Atlas back in April. CDC Director Robert Redfield admitted last month that lockdowns were killing more Americans than Covid. “First do no harm” was thrown out the window and nearly six months of wrong-headed policy has done perhaps irreparable harm to the country. South Dakota and Sweden did virtually nothing to lock down or restrict their populations and they actually fared better than lockdown states in the US. They had lower death rates, their hospitals were never over-run with Covid patients, and they have an economy to go back to. We very much hope that Dr. Atlas will not “moderate” his message to please the blob in Washington. Trump’s Covid policies to this point have caused more harm than good. With Fauci out of the driver’s seat we finally have a chance of turning things around. President Trump has been consistent on Iran and, unfortunately, consistently wrong. His Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been foaming at the mouth for war with Iran for years, along with the various neocons like Eliot Abrams who serve as cogs in the war machine. As the US moves closer to war with Iran, the utter failure of Trump's "maximum pressure" policy is laid bare. Unless this Administration wakes up to this failure and changes course, the future is dire for the US and the Middle East. Also today: Winners and losers and more coronavirus updates.
Please keep the Liberty Report on air with a tax-deductible contribution to the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity: http://www.ronpaulinstitute.org/support 'Do Not Trust The Medical Or The National Security Establishment!' With Guest Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.8/14/2020
Nephew of President John F. Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy, and tireless crusader against the tyranny of the mainstream medical establishment, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. joins today's Liberty Report to discuss his startling discoveries about who really killed his father and uncle...and why. Plus, Mr. Kennedy, an environmental lawyer, has been among the most vocal and most successful opponents of the mainstream medical establishment, driven by big Pharma to inoculate and medicate everything that moves. He tells the Liberty Report how he very reluctantly decided to dedicate his career to fighting the mandatory vaccines that have resulted in so many documented injuries to the recipients.

A California mega-church has refused to buckle under the tyrannical governor's orders to limit attendance to 100 people. On Sunday, between 6-7,000 worshipers showed up and attended services. Also today: Florida sheriff says 'no masks!" A post-apocalyptic UK conference. Epidemic versus 'case-demic.' And a new MIT article suggests community immunity is preventing coronavirus spread in US.

Every person is endowed with individual liberty. That is, the ability to choose, to select, to prefer, to believe, and to act. Over time, a person's outward life and circumstances will reflect the choices that were (and currently are) made. In other words, with individual liberty comes responsibility. With the choice (cause) comes the circumstance (effect). That's the setup, like it or not. There are two major pitfalls that a person can succumb to once they start to live in this world of cause and effect. First, is the desire to try to ditch one's individual liberty and responsibility. In other words, to try to pass it off onto someone else. The second pitfall complements the first one. It's the desire to try to assume responsibility for another person's life. That is, to try to dictate how others should live, and then attempt to enforce those dictates with violence. When it comes to man-made problems, these two pitfalls are perhaps the overriding cause of most of them. Of course, there are natural disasters, diseases and accidents; and no individual is all-knowing, so stuff happens in life. But so many of the problems that people hoot and holler about on a daily basis extend from either trying to ditch their liberty and responsibility, or from the dictates that come from busy-bodies that try to live for everyone else in addition to themselves. Some try to ditch their lives; others try to re-make the world by living for others. The blind lead the blind, and they all fall into the ditch. Meanwhile...Those who accept the setup of life, who accept that they have freedom and are responsible for it, and who accept that they cannot live or dictate for anyone else, are caught in the middle of this. These individuals are always in the hated minority. The longer that the power/dependency relationship lasts, the crazier everything gets. The tyrants begin to think of themselves as God. How many times throughout history has that happened? Meanwhile, those who have faith in the tyrants begin to believe it as well! Of course, the whole thing is a fantasy, with disastrous real-world consequences. In order to keep the fantasy going, all acknowledgment of the truth starts to fade away. The truth is thrown overboard in order to keep it going just a little while longer. The fantasy must be kept afloat with a constant stream of lies. To rule is to rule over an empire of lies. The bigger the empire, the bigger the lies. Since The United States government discarded its founding principles and became the biggest empire to ever exist, it necessarily means that Americans believe an extraordinary number of lies; whether it be about the past, about the present, and about what they can expect from government in the future. The truth is starting to break through the cracks though, and that may be why we're seeing the tremendous ramping up of authoritarianism. Many Americans are starting to come to grips with the nature of the fantasy. With widespread information-sharing on the Internet, and with a President that has repeatedly blown the whistle on fake news, it's not as shocking anymore to many Americans to realize something is seriously wrong. Large numbers are coming to grips with the fact that they've been routinely lied to through government schools; and then those lies are reinforced as they get older through media, movies, TV, radio, etc. Granted, many Americans don't know what to do about it, but the realization is spreading rapidly. The one-size-fits all Corona lockdown disaster has only added to the realization. Never in the history of the world have governments reacted like this to a virus. Never have they taken a steamroller to society and economic life in this manner. Again, many Americans don't know what to do about this, but the realization that something is seriously wrong is spreading rapidly. In this environment, all types of ideologues will try to capitalize. They will convince themselves that this is their time and opportunity to usher in their utopias. Astoundingly, even the totally disproven and discredited promises of Socialism have reared their ugly head again. As if the 1900's were not enough death and destruction for mankind to tolerate. Socialism encapsulates the two aforementioned pitfalls perfectly. For the individual, it's total subservience to the Socialist master(s). For the Socialist master(s), it's the fantasy of total micromanagement of all human life. God and independent free individuals have been replaced in this fantasy by a bunch of egomaniacs and their desire to move around human pawns. The fantasy is a nightmare. Fortunately, the truth is always the final arbiter and will prevent such a nightmare from becoming a final reality. But lots of damage has been done and can continue to be done in the meantime. On this corner of the Internet, the message is simple: Live and Let Live. Accept the setup of life. Every person is endowed with individual liberty. One can't ditch it, or assume it for anyone else. To attempt to do so, is to bring a severe amount of hurt and pain to oneself. The ideas of Liberty are far superior to the ideas of dependence and power. You're the captain of your individual ship and others are the individual captains of their own ships. How cool is that? The alternative is mass death. Hundreds of millions died (not including in wars) at the hands of their own Socialist governments in the 1900's. Americans may not know which way to turn at the moment, but that's definitely not the way to go! Let's chart a new course of living our own individual lives by keeping our hands off other people and their stuff. Let's do voluntary interactions. Let's respect private property. Let's end the Federal Reserve and return to sanity with sound money. Let's live a little bit. |
