Just a week or so after signing the "Lindsey Graham Sanctions Bill" on Russia, President Trump has made a sanctions-busting deal with Russia to purchase diesel. Despite claims that he "won the war" against Iran, fuel prices in the US continue to soar, likely ensuring a Republican loss in the midterm elections next month.
With midterms right around the corner, the hard truths are setting in and impossible to deny with honesty. America is not being made great again. President Trump did not let down his voters 100% over the last 2 years. There are a couple of praiseworthy policies. But on the BIG and MOST IMPORTANT issues, we're dealing with disaster. Most especially the Iran War and the Big Bankruptcy Bill. Donald Trump was elected to do the exact opposite. Today, we cover the sad fact that the federal government's budget deficit has crossed the $2 Trillion mark. Tough economic times must now continue.
After last week's pow-wow at Camp David with his top advisors, President Trump is rumored to be seriously considering a quick but definitive attack on Iran before the November 3rd US midterm elections. Will this time be different than the February 28th attack? Also today: Is US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee's right hand man cooking the books on Embassy reporting from Israel?
Less than a month after Chinese leader Xi Jinping's state visit to the US, the Trump Administration looks to undo any diplomatic gains with plans to deploy an anti-ship missile system on a Japanese island a stone's throw from Taiwan. What will the Chinese response be to the move? Also - shocking reports of a spike in stillbirths after Covid vaccine given to pregnant women during the heyday of the virus. Connection?
Here we go again! After months of truce between the US and Ansar Allah (Houthis) in Yemen, President Trump has decided to return to re-fueling Saudi fighter jets for their attack on Yemen. That paints a target on the US and its assets in the region. Meanwhile Pakistan and Turkey explore joining the expanding war.
The proposed $1.5 military budget for next year is only the tip of the iceberg. Actual military spending and military-related spending will bring the bill up closer to $2.5 trillion. Is this sustainable? Also today: Trump is sending another Carrier Group to the Middle East. More war on the way?

As the midterm election draws near, a number of Republicans in tough races are distancing themselves from President Trump’s war. The war is unpopular because it has inflicted economic pain on the already-suffering American people. No, I am not talking about the Iran War. I am talking about President Trump’s tariff war. The Tax Foundation estimates that, since he returned to the White House, President Trump has imposed tariffs on about 54 percent of imported goods. Contrary to the claims of power-hungry politicians and corporatists seeking protection from overseas competitors, the financial burden of tariffs falls on American businesses and consumers, not foreign exporters. Tariffs are a tax on Americans. President Trump’s tariffs have been estimated to impose an over 800 dollars tax on the average American household this year. Tariff defenders claim tariffs boost domestic industries, thus strengthening the US economy. The truth is, while tariffs may benefit some industries that have major competition from abroad, tariffs harm American businesses, like farms, that rely on exports for a substantial share of revenue. Additionally, countries often respond to increased tariffs on goods exported to the US by raising tariffs on imports from the US. High tariffs also hurt businesses that rely on importing raw materials and parts necessary to make their products. According to a survey of 4,150 registered voters conducted by the Cato Institute and Morning Consult, 74 percent of Americans view tariffs as a factor in the price increases that continue to bedevil American families, while 53 percent of Americans understand that tariffs weaken the US economy. The survey’s most disheartening result — at least for President Trump and Republicans preparing to face the voters in less than a month — is that 49 percent of Americans say President Trump’s tariffs have made their lives worse. President Trump launched his tariff war without receiving approval from Congress, even though Article One of the Constitution gives Congress, not the president, the power “to lay and collect” taxes. In order to get around the Constitution, President Trump claimed that federal laws giving the president emergency powers give him the authority to impose tariffs and thus increase taxes on the American people. President Trump’s claim regarding his authority to impose tariffs without authorization from Congress was struck down by the Supreme Court. Then, instead of taking the opportunity the court gave him to end his tariff war, President Trump simply found new justifications to impose tariffs. One of President Trump’s latest tariff targets is Canada. The Canadian government responded to President Trump’s tariffs by imposing tariffs on US goods. President Trump then responded by forbidding the importation of a long list of Canadian goods. Once again President Trump acted without getting authorization from Congress. President Trump’s tariffs have raised prices for American consumers, increased production costs for many American businesses that rely on imported materials and goods, and hurt farmers and other export-reliant business. Public anger over the economic damage inflicted by the president’s devotion to tariffs, as well as the harm caused by President Trump’s unconstitutional war on Iran, appears to be helping the Democrats regain in the upcoming election control of one or both houses of Congress. The fact that President Trump claims to be for free markets yet is embracing interventionist policies like tariffs is contributing to the rise of Democrats winning races while publicly embracing socialism. Those of us who know the truth must increase our efforts to support the libertarian alternative to both left- and right-wing authoritarianism.
Have you taken notice of how America makes the people that it claims to "liberate" suffer immensely? Remember the 500,000 dead Iraq children (from sanctions) that America's U.S. Ambassador to the UN said was "worth it"? Then came the invasion of that same country. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and that had no WMD's! Or how about the poor Cuban people that are suffering immensely (right now) from the blockade of Cuba? How about the Iranian people, who are added to the list of those who suffer from America's invasion, blockade and sanctions? It's never about "liberation" or "freedom." How can it be, when the very same people take away as many freedoms of OURS that they possibly can?
The US Southern Command appears to be putting assets in place for a possible invasion of Cuba. Last week President Trump told a reporter, "I think I'll have the honor of conquering Cuba." Will he do it?
