What's Your Green Social Credit Score?

5/31/2022

A former Goldman Sachs official now working for the Chinese giant Alibaba revealed at Davos recently that a new global tracking system of "where you go, what you eat, etc" will soon be in operation to monitor and report on how "green" individuals are behaving. What was once derided as conspiracy theory has become conspiracy fact. Also today: California deep dives into medical tyranny and MSM continues to walk back its (mis)-reporting on Ukraine.

Don’t Trade Real Liberty for Phony Security

5/30/2022

Authoritarian politicians wasted no time using the recent shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, to justify new infringements on liberty. Just days after the Buffalo shooting, the US House of Representatives passed a law creating new domestic terrorism offices in the FBI, the Justice Department, and the Department of Homeland Security.

This is a step toward achieving the longstanding goal of many progressives of focusing the national security state on “domestic terrorists” and “right-wing extremists.” Supporters of these efforts have used the Buffalo shooter’s mention of “replacement theory” in his “manifesto” to attack prominent conservative commentators, most notably Tucker Carlson. Carlson and others are accused of spreading the replacement conspiracy theory because they have pointed out that the Left has for years celebrated the coming “replacement” of the white majority population. The goal is to stigmatize, intimidate, and even criminalize those expressing views or facts that contradict the cultural Marxists or the Democrat party establishment.

Painting the Buffalo shooter as a conservative requires ignoring his self-description as an environmental-fascist and his disdain for “Fox News conservatism.” The mainstream media also ignores the shooter’s use of the same neo-Nazi symbol used by the Ukrainian Azov brigade. This may be because they do not want the American people to realize their tax dollars are supporting actual Nazis in Ukraine.

The push to use the police state against “right-wing extremists” is supported by many progressives who (correctly) oppose the national security state’s civil liberties abuses of Muslim and other minorities. Conversely, many conservatives who have defended all infringements on liberty done in the name of the “global war on terror,” (correctly) oppose federal crackdown on “right wing extremists.”

Both sides fail to realize that a violation of any individual’s liberty is a threat to everyone’s liberty.

The massacre of 19 school children and two teachers in Uvalde Texas was followed by calls for expanded gun controls from President Biden and other prominent politicians. Among the proposals floated are a renewed push for federal Red Flag laws. Red Flag laws allow law enforcement to take someone’s guns without due process based on a mere allegation that an individual poses a risk of violent behavior. Despite being unconstitutional, easily abused, and ineffective at stopping violent crime, Red Flag laws enjoy broad bipartisan support. For example, former President Donald Trump endorsed a policy of “take the gun first, worry about due process later.”

If Congress was serious about protecting liberty and security, they would pass Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie’s legislation repealing the “Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990.” This poorly worded law leaves children defenseless against mass shooters who are not dissuaded from their evil intentions by “Gun-Free Zone” signs. Video showing the Uvalde police not only standing around outside the school, but tasering parents who were trying to protect their children reinforces the importance of allowing school personnel to protect themselves and their students by carrying firearms.

Expanding the police state to “monitor” right-wing extremism and giving the government new powers to deny law-abiding individuals access to firearms make us less safe and less free. Instead of allowing politicians to use mass shootings as an excuse to further expand their powers, we must insist they repeal all federal laws that trade real liberty for phony security starting with the USA FREEDOM Acts (previously known as the USA PATRIOT Act) and the so-called Safe and Gun Free Schools Act.

Mainstream Media Grudgingly Admits Truth: Ukraine War Is A Disaster

5/30/2022

One by one, the US mainstream media outlets are lining up to (finally) let a bit of truth leak out after three months of incessant propaganda: Ukraine is being destroyed in the war. How many have unnecessarily died because the likes of Boris Johnson and Biden have prohibited a negotiated settlement? Also today, US/EU sanctions on Russia have backfired. Like always. Bonus: What was Ron Paul doing this weekend?

Are China & Russia In Better Economic Shape Than We Are?

5/27/2022

Russia is a commodities powerhouse; China a manufacturing powerhouse. Both nations have tremendous stockpiles of gold, nuclear weapons and major trading relationships around the world. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve has printed trillions of dollars, the U.S. government intervenes in all aspects of our lives and endless wars have economically devastated us. The "land of the free" took a terrible turn, and must head back to freedom.

Uh Oh - New AP Poll Shows Americans Souring On Ukraine Aid

5/26/2022

A new AP poll released this week shows for the first time that Americans are souring on "Putin's price hike" as a cost of propping up Ukraine in its war with Russia. Six and seven dollar a gallon gas plus raging inflation have brought the cost of an interventionist foreign policy home to the US and Americans are not happy. Also today, Zelensky's top aide has some colorful words for Ukraine's western sponsors. And...are you ready for Monkeypox? It's the "latest thing."

The 2nd Amendment Made Me Do It

5/25/2022

The 1st and 2nd Amendments have always been under attack, and they always will be. That should give you a good indication as to how important they both are. Every individual is free to do good, or to do ill. Everyone has a choice to lie or commit criminal acts of violence. Thus, the freedom to speak the truth (1st Amendment) and to defend oneself against criminality (2nd Amendment) are paramount.

The Number One Fallacy That Brought On This Economic Calamity

5/23/2022

When it comes to the economy and money, you can't "fake it until you make it." If you try to fake it, you'll never make it. Ever since the founding of the Federal Reserve in 1913, America has been on a path to economic calamity. There aren't many grains of sand left in the hourglass. Major changes will have to be made soon.

What's Biden's End Game in Ukraine?

5/23/2022

Last week, President Biden signed a massive $40 billion military aid bill for Ukraine. Who cares that inflation is killing the American economy and mothers can't even get baby formula. For Washington, spending on war and empire always seems to trump America’s interests.

To put this giveaway to Ukraine in perspective: just since late February, the US has provided nearly $60 billion in "assistance" to Ukraine. That is almost half that country's entire 2020 GDP! Washington has literally adopted Ukraine in our name and on our dime.

The Biden Administration claims that Ukraine is winning the war with Russia and that such an expenditure to protect Ukraine's borders is critical to our national interests and worth risking a nuclear war over.

But protecting Ukraine's democracy is no longer the stated goal of the Administration. Defense Secretary Austin outlined the Administration's new intention not long ago when he said that the real goal is to weaken Russia.

Biden’s neocons are fighting a war with Russia, but once again Congress has no interest in voting on a war declaration or even in debating whether war with Russia 30 years after the end of the Cold War is a good idea.

There is a reason our Constitution grants war powers to the legislative branch. Forcing Members of the House and Senate to declare the US to be in a state of war also enables them  - through the powers of the purse-string - to define the goals of the war and particularly what a victory looks like. That prevents the kind of mission-creep ahd shifting objectives that have characterized our endless wars in the 21st century - including this current proxy war with Russia.

Even the US mainstream media is beginning to notice. Last week the New York Times’ Editorial Board published an editorial originally titled, “What is America’s Strategy in Ukraine?” complaining that the Biden Administration has yet to answer any questions to the American people regarding its involvement in Ukraine.

While, as could be expected, the paper attacked the “isolationists” in the US Congress who opposed the $40 billion giveaway, the NY Times editorial board nevertheless registered what can only be seen as the first major sign of dissent among the usual media war cheerleaders.

They wrote:

...it is still not in America’s best interest to plunge into an all-out war with Russia, even if a negotiated peace may require Ukraine to make some hard decisions. And the US aims and strategy in this war have become harder to discern, as the parameters of the mission appear to have changed.
While warning that Americans’ interest in Ukraine will begin to wane without more clarity from Washington as to its goals, the paper went on to directly contradict the Biden Administration’s predictions of a Ukraine victory:
A decisive military victory for Ukraine over Russia, in which Ukraine regains all the territory Russia has seized since 2014, is not a realistic goal.
Congress - with very few exceptions - has opened a financial spigot to the government in Kiev without asking a single question about how and why the money is to be spent. When Senator Paul simply asked for someone to keep track of the $60 billion we shipped over there he was met with near-unanimous opposition.

An endless supply of US taxpayer money to Ukraine with zero stated goals and zero oversight. Isn’t it time to stand up and demand that both parties in Congress start asking some hard questions?

Is The FDA & Corporatism Starving America's Babies?

5/20/2022

The baby formula crisis is yet another disaster that must result from government & giant corporations working hand-in-hand. So-called "government regulations," which include massive subsidies and protectionism, must be replaced free markets and open competition. Otherwise Americans should not be surprised to keep getting more of the same outcomes.
