The economic bad news hit hard this week with the GDP crashing 33% in the second quarter. The tyrannical lockdowns have produced the steepest economic collapse since 1947. The fallout from Americans sacrificing their liberties to government power is overwhelming. With suicides, drug overdoses, a doubling in domestic violence, and tens of millions unemployed, two things should come to everyone's mind: "Look what they've done!" and "Americans should never sacrifice their liberties again!"
Dr. Fauci is back in the limelight where he likes to be. In a recent ABC interview he informs Americans that if they "really want 100 percent protection" they should not only wear masks, but also goggles on their eyes. Will he be recommending space suits next week? Also in today's Liberty Report: With the latest Depression-level drop in US GDP, the real costs of the lockdown are becoming evident. Poverty, hunger, and more death will continue the foolish policy of shutting down the US economy instead of protecting the vulnerable. Plus, Are The Netherlands, Sweden, Mumbai, and Afghanistan all on the right track?
Please support the Liberty Report with a tax-deductible contribution to the Ron Paul Institute: http://www.RonPaulInstitute.org/support By Chris Rossini Liberty is the natural condition of every individual. Liberty is concentrated and "located" in the individual mind ... in the unseen, in the untouchable, in the unmeasurable. The individual mind thinks and chooses. Man is inherently free. Man is not like a blade of grass, or a stone, or a planet. These do not think or choose. They do not say "yes" or "no". They do not act in order to achieve desired ends. Man does think. He values, forms opinions and preferences, and chooses how to act to achieve his desired ends. It's easy to see the similarities between individuals. Most of us have two arms, two legs, ten fingers and toes, dress ourselves in the morning, and put on one shoe at a time. The similarities are easy to spot. However, our major differences are located in the unseen, the untouchable, and the unmeasurable. It is here that you find the true and genuine uniqueness of each and every one of us. Imagine being able to take each thought that you have and line them up, one after another, in front of you. Every second you add to this unique "train of thought" that would stretch far beyond where your eyes could see. Your "train of thought" is one-of-a-kind. It is not, and cannot be the same as anyone else who has ever lived in the past, who lives today, or who will live in the future. It's you and you alone, and you're 100% responsible for it. The libertarian idea was stated brilliantly by Murray Rothbard: "Libertarianism, therefore, is a theory which states that everyone should be free of violent invasion, should be free to do as he sees fit, except invade the person or property of another...Libertarianism does not offer a way of life; it offers liberty, so that each person is free to adopt and act upon his own values and moral principles." In other words, live your life as you please, just do not use aggressive force against another individual's person or property. Force is for self-defense only, in the case for when someone else decides to be aggressive.
This libertarian idea accepts the fact that each and everyone of us are unique and endowed with individual liberty. Now let's bring in the tyrants... These are the misguided individuals who desire power over others. "Live and let live" is not a part of their credo. Instead, you are to live as they tell you to live. They're all about using violent force, or the threat of violent force. Their quest is to force everyone to conform to their image. Tyrants completely disregard and even hate individual liberty. Let's go back once again to our imaginary "train of thought" that we laid out in front of us .. one thought after another ... out into the distance ... Our own unique experience of Life. The tyrants want to take these individual "trains of thought" and make them exactly the same! The tyrants want everyone to hold the exact same opinions about everything, to value everything the way they value them, and to act as they believe everyone should act. The tyrants seek unity of thought. They want to dictate and everyone obeys. They want to turn humanity into a robot army that does nothing but obey their commands. The tyrants are in a perpetual fight against reality. They're trying to control the unseen, the untouchable, and the unmeasurable. They try to control 7 billion individual and unique minds. It should be obvious to anyone without the desire for power, as to why this is impossible. But power messes people up. In their minds, it is they who decide what is possible. In striving for this delusion, tyrants throughout all of history are willing to use whatever violence they deem necessary, whatever surveillance, censorship and propaganda that they feel is necessary to reach this unity of thought. Alas, the only thing that the tyrants accomplish is death and destruction on an astronomical scale. They always go down, and they take their believers with them. Individual Liberty remains...and Life goes on. Individual Liberty always thwarts the tyrannical desire for unity of thought.
A viral video made by medical professionals opposing the prevailing mainstream view of how to manage the coronavirus outbreak was nearly sent down the memory hole in an effort seemingly coordinated by all social media outlets. Why are alternate scientific views held by bona fide scientists not allowed in the United States? While much of the world imposed strict population lockdowns in response to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the pressure on countries (and even US states) to conform to the lockdown demands was intense. But a few counties broke from the pack and now the results are in: not only did they not experience a cataclysm, they fared better in both cases and deaths than the lockdown countries. And they have economies to return to once the virus runs its course, which it is doing according to the history of viruses. Also today: Fauci's "not concerned" by potential dangers of the Covid vaccine. Should the rest of us be?

If some Congress members get their way, the Federal Reserve may soon be able to track many of your purchases in real time and share that information with government agencies. This is just one of the problems with the proposed “digital dollar” or “fedcoin.” Fedcoin was initially included in the first coronavirus spending bill. While the proposal was dropped from the final version of the bill, there is still great interest in fedcoin on Capitol Hill. Some progressives have embraced fedcoin as a way to provide Americans with a “universal basic income.” Both the Senate Banking Committee and the House Financial Services Committee held hearings on fedcoin in June. This is the first step toward making fedcoin a reality. Fedcoin would not be an actual coin. Instead, it would be a special account created and maintained for each American by the Federal Reserve. Each month, Fed employees could tap a few keys on a computer and — bingo — each American would have dollars added to his Federal Reserve account. This is the 21st century equivalent of throwing money from helicopters. Fedcoin could effect private cryptocurrencies. Also, it would limit the ability of private citizens to protect themselves from the Federal Reserve-caused decline in the dollar’s value. Fedcoin would not magically increase the number of available goods and services. What it would do is drive up prices. The damage this would do to middle- and lower-income Americans would dwarf any benefit they receive from their monthly “gift” from the Fed. The rise in prices could lead to Congress regularly increasing fedcoin payments to Americans. These increases would cause prices to keep rising even more until we face hyperinflation and a dollar crisis. Of course, we are already on the path to an economic crisis thanks to the Fed. Fedcoin will hasten and worsen the crisis. Fedcoin poses a great threat to privacy. The Federal Reserve could know when fedcoin is used, who is using it, and what they use it for. This information could be shared with government agencies, such as the FBI or IRS. The government could use the ability to know how Americans are spending fedcoin to limit our ability to purchase goods and services disfavored by politicians and bureaucrats. Anyone who doubts this should recall the Obama administration’s Operation Choke Point. Operation Choke Point involved financial regulators “alerting” banks that dealing with certain businesses, such as gun stores, would put the banks at “reputational risk” and could subject them to greater regulation. Is it so hard to believe that the ability to track purchases would be used in the future to “discourage” individuals from buying guns, fatty foods, or tobacco, or from being customers of corporations whose CEOs are not considered “woke” by the thought police? Fedcoin could also be used to “encourage” individuals to patronize “green” business, thus fulfilling Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s goal of involving the Fed in the fight against climate change. Fedcoin could threaten private cryptocurrencies, increase inflation, and give government new powers over our financial transactions. Fedcoin will also speed up destruction of the fiat money system. Whatever gain fedcoin may bring to average Americans will come at terrible cost to liberty and prosperity.
The director of the World Health Organization has warned that we can never go back to normal after the coronavirus outbreak that has killed approximately 650,000 worldwide. But every year the normal flu kills about that many...so why the lockdowns and forced masks and destruction of the economy for this one? What is the real agenda behind this mass hysteria? Also today - as the Sun Belt "spike" continues to fade, what will be the next tyrant move to terrify - and terrorize - the population? And finally, Cuomo's attack on chicken wings.
The Fed is counterfeiting trillions of dollars. The government has created mass unemployment and is spending way beyond what it takes from us in taxes. While the livelihoods of the American citizens are destroyed, government refuses to shrink. More promises that can't be kept are being made. Gold is starting its engines and heading to record highs. Are the ideas of omnipotent government and central planning finally on their way out?
Remember Libya? The country "liberated" by Obama and Hillary? Nine years later the country remains destroyed, with the remains being picked apart by warlords and slave traders. Turkey, an enthusiastic supporter of the 2011 invasion, is making its move to snatch Libyan oil. Neighboring Egypt says, "not so fast." The world is distracted by disappearing coronavirus while a major war is brewing. Also in today's Report, Texas Covid updates, W.H.O. hires corrupt PR firm, and more...

Truth is the only lasting government. It is the only "order." In fact, the truth can be considered the natural government of mankind. It needs no input from man. It doesn't care about man's opinions or desires to the contrary. The truth can never to be conquered and never be overthrown. There can never be a coup, or a regime change. That which was true in ancient times was also true for our ancestors; it remains true for us, and will continue to be true for those yet to come. Each individual's relationship to the truth determines the type of life that he or she will experience. Live in rapport with it and the sky is the limit. However, because man is naturally free to choose, he is free to live a life that is inverted to the truth as well. He is free to spiral downwards and go through an abysmal and painful experience. So man's natural government of truth is just. Justice is built-in and un-malleable. No one is above the truth. There is no one to bribe to get you off the hook, or to grant you special favors or privileges. There is no K-street when it comes to the truth. Now let's consider the non-permanent governments, or man-made governments. Man-made governments are always short-lived. Even the longest-lasting among them are fleeting when considering the immensity of time. While a thousand year government may sound impressive to the average human being, it is but a spit-in-the-bucket in the grand scheme of things. So why? ... Why are man-made governments fleeting? The short answer is because they are often formed as a rebellion against that which is true. Man is naturally free. He is endowed with individual Liberty. That's the truth. But it's a truth that many people don't like. There are always those who believe that they are meant to control others; that they are meant to conquer the globe, and create a new "order." But there is only one order, and that order is the truth ... like it or not. So when man-made governments inevitably bump up against the truth, guess which one wins? Guess which one never loses? That's why there's a saying that the truth always wins in the end. Now that's impressive! Granted, sometimes it takes awhile (from the perspective of an individual human life) to reach that end. But the end always arrives, irregardless of which human beings happen to be alive to see it. Here's a very good example: In 1922, the great free-market Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises logically spelled out why Socialism cannot work. And by cannot work, Mises meant that Socialism cannot deliver on its promises. Since man is free to choose, he obviously can have his Socialism. One would think that perhaps he's had enough by now. But while can have his Socialism, he cannot have what Socialism promises. He must have the exact opposite of what Socialism promises. That's a tough pill to swallow for the authoritarians. They don't want to hear it, so they simply ignore it and keep crushing skulls to reach their Utopia. But Mises proved that no matter how many skulls they crush, their Utopia as an actual reality must always remain in their imaginations. Keep in mind that Mises did this only a few years after the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. Had people in authority in the 20th century listened to him, and accepted what is true, it could have saved the lives of untold millions who perished at the hands of their Socialist governments. Mises did not live to see the fall of the Berlin Wall, but he was right despite the fact that he was ignored. He was right despite the fact that those who were wrong made more money than he did, and got all the accolades and praises that come with being wrong. Soviet tyranny ended after roughly 70 years. It was meant to be a world government. But Socialism is so contrary to the truth that the Soviets didn't even hit the century mark. Man-made governments are fleeting. Mises was amongst the few who chose to live by the only government that persists, the natural government of mankind, the truth. He clung to principle, while the masses chased after delusions. He lived an exceptional individual life. As the masses chase after utopias in our time, may we each be wise enough and courageous enough to latch onto the truth as Mises did. What a glorious example he gave for us to follow. |
