We cannot go back to the pre-coronavirus world, they tell us. Everything has changed and we must accept a "new normal." What does this "new normal" look like? It looks a lot like a dystopian horror film, where privacy is destroyed, property is subject to political whim, surveillance is to be accepted, medical treatments can be forced on people. Should we accept totalitarianism as our "new normal"? Plus in today's program: the real story of Houston's "round two hospital crisis."

For months, the Washington Post and the rest of the mainstream media kept a morbid Covid-19 “death count” on their front pages and at the top of their news broadcasts. The coronavirus outbreak was all about the number of dead. The narrative was intended to boost governors like Cuomo in New York and Whitmer in Michigan, who turned their states authoritarian under the false notion that destroying people’s jobs, freedom, and lives would somehow keep a virus from doing what viruses always do: spread through a population until eventually losing strength and dying out. The “death count” was always the headline. But then all of a sudden early in June the mainstream media did a George Orwell and lectured us that it is all about “cases” and has always been all about “cases.” Death, and especially infection fatality rate, were irrelevant. Why? Because from the peak in April, deaths had decreased by 90 percent and were continuing to crash. That was not terrifying enough so the media pretended this good news did not exist. With massive increases in testing, the “case” numbers climbed. This is not rocket science: the more people you test the more “cases” you discover. Unfortunately our mainstream media is only interested in pushing the “party line.” So the good news that millions more have been exposed while the fatality rate continues to decline - meaning the virus is getting weaker - is buried under hysterical false reporting of “new cases.” Unfortunately many governors, including our own here in Texas, are incapable of resisting the endless lies of the mainstream media. They are putting Americans again through the nightmare of forced business closures, mandated face masks, and restrictions of Constitutional liberties based on false propaganda. In Texas the “second wave” propaganda has gotten so bad that the leaders of the four major hospitals in Houston took the extraordinary step late last week of holding a joint press conference to clarify that the scare stories of Houston hospitals being overwhelmed with Covid cases are simply untrue. Dr. Marc Boom of Houston Methodist said the reporting on hospital capacity is misleading. He said, “quite frankly, we’re concerned that there is a level of alarm in the community that is unwarranted right now.” In fact, there has been much reporting that the “spike” in Texas cases is not due to a resurgence of the virus but to hospital practices of Covid-testing every patient coming in for any procedure at all. If it’s a positive, well that counts as a “Covid hospitalization.” Why would hospitals be so dishonest in their diagnoses? Billions of appropriated Federal dollars are being funneled to facilities based on the number of “Covid cases” they can produce. As I’ve always said, if you subsidize something you get more of it. And that’s why we are getting more Covid cases. Let’s go back to the original measurements used to scare Americans into giving up their Constitutional liberties: the daily death numbers. Even though we know hospitals have falsely attributed countless deaths to “Covid-19” that were deaths WITH instead of FROM the virus, we are seeing actual deaths steadily declining over the past month and a half. Declining deaths are not a great way to push the “second wave” propaganda, so the media and politicians have moved the goal posts and decided that only “cases” are important. It’s another big lie. Resist propaganda and defend your liberty. That is the only way we’ll get through this.
Tens of thousands marched in a joint BLM/'Pride' rally over the weekend in Chicago (and elsewhere) with the blessing of the same officials who are threatening churches, forcing face masks, and ripping liquor licenses from bars that won't shut their doors (again). Claiming that "cases" are skyrocketing, officials from Texas and across the country are trying to return us to devastating lockdown. But why aren't they talking about the falling death rate?
The great Frederic Bastiat said that "Trade barriers constitute isolation; isolation gives rise to hatred, hatred to war..." This is the path that should be avoided. If America is unattractive to entrepreneurs, and is falling behind competitively because it is saddled with the biggest government on earth, perhaps the focus should be setting the American entrepreneur free from the bureaucracy. For obvious reasons, American politicians do not want to decrease their power. They would much rather point the finger outwards.
Suddenly politicians are talking about locking the US back down. They are screaming about a "second wave" and warning that the hospitals are full. We know they cooked the books to pad the coronavirus death count...are they cooking the books again to bring back the panic?

If there is one word that accurately describes our physical world and our individual human lives, it is "uniqueness." Every grain of sand, every snowflake, every animal and every human being is exquisitely unique. One-of-a-kind. No copies. We are each individual sovereigns of our own personal kingdoms. The order of business is the same every waking moment that we are here. As CEO's of our individual kingdoms, we are tasked with choosing our own thoughts, what to dwell upon, our beliefs, valuations, choices, and actions. No one else can do any of these things for us. They can certainly suggest what we should think, choose, or do, but their power stops there. We individually must decide whether to listen to them or not. There is no "We" in this kingdom, outside of a lifeless abstraction. Life does not manifest Itself as 'people.' Life does not manifest Itself as a 'group.' Life does not manifest Itself as "We." Rather, Life manifests Itself as this particular individual ... that particular individual ... another particular individual... 7+ billion times and counting ... Life manifests Itself as 7+ billion individual and unique "I's." The great Ludwig von Mises said it perfectly: "Only the individual thinks. Only the individual reasons. Only the individual acts." If one is tasked with having to sum this extraordinary gift up into one word, that word would be --- LIBERTY. Liberty is a part of human nature. America's Founders described it as a self-evident truth. Liberty just is, and like all of nature, human nature cannot be changed. It is. There can never be a case of "We think," without the consent of each individual that makes up the abstract "We." Each individual must consent. If he or she consents, then he or she must individually experience and feel the consequences of whatever has been consented to. Since every individual has the Liberty to consent, it necessarily means that he or she can just as easily withhold consent. There is no living and breathing "We." There is no "General Will," or "Public Mind," or "Public Health," etc...etc... These abstract word salads are mixed together by authoritarian individuals who seek to use force and who wish to rule over other individuals. Authoritarians are individuals who have an immoral and warped "foreign policy." Every individual's personal kingdom must have a "foreign policy." One of the critical choices that each one us must make is in how we will treat other individuals. Will it be the authoritarian and tyrannical way -- coercion, force and violence against others? Or will it be the moral and just way -- voluntarism, contract, peace and consent? "Foreign policy" is the big one. It makes or breaks the entire individual kingdom. Since each individual has the natural right to his own life, liberty, property and pursuit of happiness, it necessarily means that individual liberty comes with built-in restraints. The restraint is other individuals and their natural right to their own life, liberty, property and pursuit of happiness. Our individual liberty extends to the liberty of others. It stops right there and goes no further. The moment we choose to harm another individual's person or property, we are choosing to act as a tyrant. We have chosen a tyrannical "foreign policy." This is why peace cannot be separated from individual liberty. They are one. We are currently living in a time where many individuals have chosen "foreign policies" of tyranny. Violence, force, theft, deception, cheating, destruction and war... Individuals who choose this way of life are putting their personal kingdoms into a very high risk situation. They are choosing to throw away their extraordinary gift. The tyrannical way of life will ultimate destroy their individual and personal kingdoms. Fortunately, the good life is only a choice away. Dealing with others through consent and voluntarism is just a choice, a simple choice. Let us each, individually, strive to make that choice on a daily basis. Let us each take care of our own individual kingdoms and peacefully coexist with the individual kingdoms of others. DC Court of Appeals has ruled that the case against Gen. Michael Flynn must be dropped, after a judge ignored a previous order by US Attorney General William Barr to drop all charges. As more documents and notes by FBI officers involved in the case are released, it becomes ever more evident that this was no counterintelligence investigation - it was a coup attempt. And it went all the way to the top. Also in today's program mask-mania continues to spread faster than the coronavirus, with Americans lining up to turn in other Americans for not wearing masks. But what happened in states that did not shut down? We discuss a Wall Street Journal editorial of yesterday with the hard numbers.

Just over a week ago Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan praised the takeover of part of her city by protesters claiming to establish the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" (CHAZ) where no police would be needed - or welcome. It would be a "summer of love" Durkan gushed. Shortly thereafter a strong man emerged to proclaim himself in charge and automatic weapons were handed out. Shootings and violence followed. Now the mayor is eating crow, preparing to reclaim part of her city. Also in today's Liberty Report - More from Bolton's book on how he sabotaged Trump's outreach to North Korea and the latest on the "second wave" of coronavirus.

In a sign that the Federal Reserve is growing increasingly desperate to jump-start the economy, the Fed’s Secondary Market Credit Facility has begun purchasing individual corporate bonds. The Secondary Market Credit Facility was created by Congress as part of a coronavirus stimulus bill to purchase as much as 750 billion dollars of corporate credit. Until last week, the Secondary Market Credit Facility had limited its purchases to exchange-traded funds, which are bundled groups of stocks or bonds. The bond purchasing initiative, like all Fed initiatives, will fail to produce long-term prosperity. These purchases distort the economy by increasing the money supply and thus lowering interest rates, which are the price of money. In this case, the Fed’s purchase of individual corporate bonds enables select corporations to pursue projects for which they could not otherwise have obtained funding. This distorts signals sent by the market, making these companies seem like better investments than they actually are and thus allowing these companies to attract more private investment. This will cause these companies to experience a Fed-created bubble. Like all Fed-created bubbles, the corporate bond bubble will eventually burst, causing businesses to collapse, investors to lose their money (unless they receive a government bailout), and workers to lose their jobs. Under the law creating the lending facilities, the Fed does not have to reveal the purchases made by the new facilities. Instead of allowing the Fed to hide this information, Congress should immediately pass the Audit the Fed bill so people can know whether a company is flush with cash because private investors determined it is a sound investment or because the Fed chose to “invest” in its bonds. The Fed could, and likely will, use this bond buying program to advance political goals. The Fed could fulfill Chairman Jerome Powell’s stated desire to do something about climate change by supporting “green energy” companies. The Fed could also use its power to reward businesses that, for example, support politically correct causes, refuse to sell guns, require their employees and customers to wear masks, or promote unquestioning obedience to the warfare state. Another of the new lending facilities is charged with purchasing the bonds of cash-strapped state and local governments. This could allow the Fed to influence the policies of these governments. It is not wise to reward spendthrift politicians with a federal bailout — whether through Congress or through the Fed. With lending facilities providing to the Federal Reserve the ability to give money directly to businesses and governments, the Fed is now just one step away from implementing Ben Bernanke’s infamous suggestion that, if all else fails, the Fed can drop money from a helicopter. These interventions will not save the economy. Instead, they will make the inevitable crash more painful. The next crash can bring about the end of the fiat monetary system. The question is not if the current monetary system ends, but when. The only way Congress can avoid the Fed causing another great depression is to begin transitioning to a free-market monetary system by auditing, then ending, the Fed.
The doom and gloom "scientists" are back on television warning of a massive new spike in coronavirus cases...while admitting also to a massive "spike" in testing and a massive decrease in deaths across the country. Are they conditioning Americans to accept another lockdown and shutdown of the economy? How to explain the hysteria over rising "cases" while also admitting to falling deaths. Plus today: "contact tracing" looks to be a massive boondoggle in New York. Can Texas expect the same dismal failure of its third of a billion dollar "contact tracing" program?
