Thomas Jefferson once said: “I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us, that the less we use our power, the greater will it be.” Boy, it didn't turn out that way at all. In testimony, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson revealed that the U.S. is not leaving Iraq, even if the Iraqis specifically request the U.S. to withdraw and remove permission for the U.S. to be there. Jason Ditz at Antiwar.com reports: Testifying to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson revealed that the US presence in Iraq is so permanent at this point that even if Iraq specifically requests the US withdraw and removes permission for them to be there, the US will remain.
